We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our organization. This role is pivotal in driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring our operations meet the highest standards in environmental management, occupational health, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background, proven experience in industrial settings, and a passion for continuous improvement in safety practices.
What you´ll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in line with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards, ensuring proactive risk mitigation and compliance.
- Lead thorough incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee programs related to waste management, hazardous material handling, and control of air and water quality, ensuring adherence to EPA and other regulatory standards.
- Design and deliver training sessions for employees, fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring everyone is equipped with essential safety knowledge and practices.
- Work closely with various departments to integrate EHS practices into daily operations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and evolving regulations, adapting policies and practices to maintain compliance and promote best practices.
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 3-5 years in an EHS role, preferably within industrial or manufacturing settings, with a demonstrable record of managing safety and environmental compliance programs.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of ISO frameworks, along with strong analytical skills for risk assessment and mitigation.
- Ability to analyze complex data, assess risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong project management abilities, with a track record of balancing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Collaborative mindset with the aptitude to build relationships across all organizational levels.
- A proactive approach to safety and a dedication to continuous professional development.
