Our purpose is what unites us at Henkel North America: Pioneers at heart for the good of generations. Building on our legacy of integrity as a family-owned business, we aim to exhibit the Henkel spirit by partnering with community organizations to make a positive impact. 

Community Impact Day reflects that commitment. It is designed to provide our employees a dedicated day to donate their time and skills to help non-profit organizations and causes that are close to their hearts. 

For our second year in organizing this day of service, more than 1,000 employees volunteered across 20 sites from Stamford, CT to Irvine, CA to Mississauga, Canada.  Collectively they supported over 30 non-profit organizations with hearts, hands, and funds. The organizations included the Boys & Girls Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, local food banks, children’s services, park clean ups, and many more.

We are united by our desire to help those around us and believe everyone can make a difference for the good of generations by engaging with our communities. 

In Connecticut, home to our Henkel North America headquarters, over 500 employees volunteered at 12 non-profits near our offices in Darien, Rocky Hill, Stamford and Trumbull. In addition, employees visited local schools to deliver Henkel’s “Eco Kids” lesson to teach children how they can care for our planet.

Below is a sample of the Community Impact Day activities organized by teams at Henkel sites across North America.

At Mill River Park in Stamford, CT, Phil Schaffer and team of Henkel volunteers planted native plants to help enhance the park’s natural beauty for everyone to enjoy.

Two shifts of 50 employees each, volunteered at Filling in the Blanks in Stamfort, CT, to pack weekend food kits for children in need.

A team of 22 volunteers, painted and helped with maintenance around the PAWS facility in Norwalk, CT that rescues and re-homes stray and abandoned dogs and cats.

Seventy employees at Henkel’s North America headquarters in Rocky Hill, CT participated in the annual Fun Run – a partnership with local station WFSB to raise funds for the Denise D’Ascenzo foundation.

Ninety employees across Henkel Canada operations volunteered at organizations such as the Toronto Humane Society ‏(pictured), Habit for Humanity, Children’s Aid Society, and more.

Twenty Henkel teammates volunteered at Trumbull Nature & Arts Center to help with weeding, repairing benches and other maintenance around the grounds and outdoor classroom.

The Henkel team in Franklin, TN volunteered at a local foodbank to help prepare donations for distribution to people in need.

In Salt Lake City, UT, a team of Henkel employees hosted a booth and participated in the American Cancer Society’s annual Make Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.

In West Hazleton, PA, employees volunteered at the Hazleton Integration Project to provide essential nourishment serving 535 meals to individuals and families in need.

The Henkel team in Bellevue, WA, sorted and organized donations of clothing, toys and more for KidVantage- who helps children to learn, grow and thrive in families facing economic insecurity.
