CSR Digital Education Initiative of Henkel India inaugurated at Kurkumbh

CSR Digital Education initiative of Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Private Limited (Henkel India), a fully owned subsidiary of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA,  Germany, was recently inaugurated by the Panchayat Samiti members of Daund at Hinganigada School in Kurkumbh. Mahesh Aloni, Manager Operations and Projects – Adhesives, Henkel India, participated in the inauguration ceremony. This CSR Digital Education initiative focuses on providing about 5000 students from Jejuri, Kurkumbh, Navi Mumbai and Thane, a great educational experience. This initiative gives these students access to Maharashtra State Board curriculum in multimedia format (digital class) from standards 1 to 10. Of the 5000 students, over 650 students from 5 schools at Kurkumbh, including 118 students of Hinganigada shool, will be its beneficiaries.

Henkel India has made available 3 digital classes to Hinganigada school. This Zila Parishad school has standards 1 to 8 and follows the Maharashtra State Board curriculum. Each digital class includes a 55 inches LED TV, a PC Stick with Windows 10 operating system, 1st to 8th class state board curriculum, TV remote, wireless multimedia key board and mouse with a wall mounted wooden box for storage. Besides the digital education initiatives, which were undertaken based on a baseline study conducted earlier in the year, Henkel India will also be upgrading the infrastructure of the this school by providing clean drinking water and constructing toilets for both girls and boys.

Speaking about this initiative, Mahesh Aloni said: “Fostering social progress has always been an integral part of Henkel's sense of responsibility as a company. Access to quality education and appropriate learning environment is one of the driving forces of human development, and through these social interventions we hope to make a difference in the lives of these Government school students.”

“The Indian Education system has witnessed a lot of technological advancements; however, not all schools have these facilities. This CSR initiative of Henkel India will  go a long way in enabling the teachers of these Government schools to provide quality education to the students,” he added.
